Install :
---------

Simply copy MsDosOptions.exe in a folder and launch it before use
of MS-DOS mode applications.


Uses :
======

MS-DOS Options is an application which simplify the modification of
the settings for MS-DOS mode programs.

Windows gives you the possibility to make a special startup configuration
for each MS-DOS mode program which require it. For this, you must go to
the Program sheet of the Property tab of an .EXE (or .COM) file and choose
the Advanced Parameters button. You choose "Specify a new MS-DOS configuration".
Then you can push the Configuration button to select the commands you want
to launch at the startup for this program. You only have to select but,
by default, there is very few lines to select. (5 lines on my computer)

That's why MS-DOS Options is. It allows you to easily add items in this window.


How it's work
=============

Launch MS-DOS Options

Select an item (by example : mouse), infos concerning this item are collected
and shown in the window.

Text : this is the text you see on the screen when you configure the MS-DOS
mode program

Explanation : You'll see it on the bottom of the window when you'll select
this item.

Command in Config.sys : This is the line to be added to the Config.sys file
if you select this item.

Command in Autoexec.bat : idem but for Autoexec.bat file.

Note : To make easier the entry of the commands lines, MS-DOS Options retrieve
all the lines of the files Config.sys, Autoexec.bat and Dosstart.bat and display
them when you open the drop down list. You can choose an existing line and then
modify it for the program to configure.

Position : this is in what order you want the command lines to be added to the
startup files.

Display options : select how you want the item to be displayed:
Normal : the item is shown but not checked
Check : the item is checked by default
Always : always add this item to the startup files (not shown in the config window)
Never : not shown

Refresh button : read again infos in the registry.

To add items, type a name in the item field and select the Add button

Select Remove to completly delete an item.

Note : you can enter a command line for Config.sys, for Autoexec.bat or for
Config.sys AND Autoexec.bat together (by example, for cd-rom drives, driver
line in config.sys and mscdex.exe line in autoexec.bat).
