Taskbar
Activate v2.4 (Windows
9x/NT4/2000/XP) |

Don't let programs
decide whether you can get access to the taskbar!
Don't let the taskbar hide your applications because you have gone close to
the edge of the screen with your mouse!
Taskbar Activate
manages activation and deactivation of the Windows taskbar. It is specialy usefull
for accessing the taskbar with special applications running (full screen windows,
always on top windows, ...). It also prevents an inopportune taskbar window
appearing over your application when the mouse goes close to the screen border.
Your screen is never enough large. So, you'd like to use full screen applications
to see something else than the title, menu, status bars.
But, if so, it is quite impossible to switch between applications because you
have no access to the taskbar. The taskbar is completely hidden by your full
screen application.
Sure, it is possible
to use ALT+TAB or CTRL+ESC or even the Windows key of your new keyboard (is
it here only for this bug?).
TaskBar Activate
awakes your taskbar when it is hidden by a full screen window and it has not
agree to do this itself when the mouse come.
Manage DOS Caps
Lock.
I have a problem
with caps lock : i never know if my keyboard is in upper-case or lower-case.
If i hit the CAPSLOCK key (US
keyboard), am i going to upper or lower case ?
Did i hit the SHIFT key since
i was in caps mode (french keyboard), wich makes my keyboard going to lower
case ?
It is for a DOS
application in which you have to use frequently numeric keys that i have developped
CapsLock. In that application, numeric keypad is deactivated and caps mode is
required on the French keyboard to have access to other numerical keys. It is
annoying when you do not know how your keyboard will respond when you hit a
key.
This is why i began working on CapsLock.
Usage :
- a hit on the CAPSLOCK
key, you are in caps mode.
- a second hit on the CAPSLOCK
key, you still are in caps mode (US keyboard).
- a hit on a SHIFT
key , you are still and ever in caps mode (french keyboard).
- a hit on SHIFT+CAPSLOCK
keys, you quit caps mode.
Thus, the caps lock state is sure because the sequence of key is different to
go from a mode to the other, and this sequence is not used by another function.

Windows can hide
known extensions of known file types.
File names look
better in explorer, however, if a file has not the good extension, you cannot
change it easily. Change Extension gives you back this power.

Cookies
are small files on your hard drive. Web pages can recognise you when you come
on them again. They have no utility for you and are there only to track you.
Some
cookies however store settings of pages to see them as you want. So, certainly,
you want to keep them.
Cookies
Manager helps you to select which cookies you want to keep and which cookies
you want to delete.
Internet
explorer 4 or upper required.

While
you use Internet Explorer for surfing, visited pages are saved on your hard
drive so you can see them off line. Internet explorer generally puts these files
in a folder named Temporary Internet Files.
Internet
Explorer is not perfect, so parts of files are left on your drive, not visible
in the cache. There is no possibility to manually delete these files. This problem
exists on every version of Internet Explorer et and still in version 5.
Internet
Explorer 4 or up required.

MS-DOS

|
YES! You do use
Windows 95 (or 98?) whether you want or not :-)
And you have some
programs which don't want to run under it and you have to use them in MS-DOS
mode. And then, of course, no help is given by Bill Gates. For he wants you
to use win32 programs (and maybe HIS win32 programs) and nothing is done to
make configuration of these programs easier.
MS-DOS Options
is for you!
Eyh! Take a
look at what i have found about MS-DOS Options while
i was surfing.
